China Day-Year 3

China day

On china day we did lots of activities these are what we did: made paper lanterns ,made a Chinese calendar, made masks of tigers and hares and some of us wore chinese clothes. We also found out that red is a Chinese lucky colour and that they wear it on Chinese New Year. Our headteacher Mr Crowther had a visit to China. This year is the year of the pig. I was born in the year of the tiger.

China day
On china day we did lots of activities and my favourite thing was the plate.
It was not easy to make because we had to colour in all the animals in the year then we had to colour the background in a different colour to the pictures. Then when we had coloured it all we put a little frill around the side. Then we had to draw a picture of china day and then we made them into lanterns.

On China day Year 3 made Chinese lanterns. You make Chinese lanterns by getting a sheet of paper and drawing a pattern. When you have drawn a pattern you snip your lantern side ways but leave two centimetres of space. Snip the end fully of the lantern. Then open up the lantern and stick both ends of the lantern together. The end you snipped off, you use as a handle and glue the handle on.
