At last here are some pictures from the Year 6 play of 2009.
It was a brilliant performance, telling the story of the war time evacuation of children sent from London to Wales. The play amazed us with brilliant scenery, costumes, acting and singing. We were nearly moved to tears when the two children sang of feeling scared and missing home on their first night. Also a radio broadcast told of a bombing raid in London. Then we were transported into slap stick comedy when the boy is shown how to "milk" a cow by the son of the family. Apparently in Wales they milk cows by pumping the tail up and down...needless to say the result was hilarious and thank goodness only a sound effect! The singing from the choir was uplifting. Their enthusiasm made the whole performance such a joy to sit through.
We are so lucky at Brumby Junior School to be witness to such talent. I always feel, at this time of the year, that Brumby should be taking the show "on the road". Where do you think? Scunny, Grimsby, Hull, Sheffield Arena...The West End....Broadway!!!!! Oh well there's no harm in dreaming -and for some of our young dreamers you never know what the future holds!
The blury pictures were taken during the acting. There are clearer pictures at the end, of the cast.
